The Bendigo Chinese community proudly presents the Golden Dragon Museum, a living history of the Chinese people in Bendigo from the gold rush of the 1850’s to the present day.  Take time to enjoy the beautiful displays, processional regalia, carved furniture and costumes embroidered with gold bullion thread.  View Loong, the world’s oldest Imperial Dragon and Sun Loong, the world’s longest Imperial Dragon.

Belvoir Park Golf Club

Just a short drive south of Bendigo, Belvoir Park Golf Course is considered by many as Central Victoria’s best kept golfing secret, etched into the Big Hill ranges, the club was established in 1947, spending its first 50 years as a sand-scrape course.  In 2000 it was officially opened after the course was converted to grass greens. A challenging but rewarding course for the beginner right through to the expert golfer.

Walking Trails & Gardens

Cooinda Park  This fantastic playground at Cooinda Park features a triple slide as well as plenty of play equipment for the kids to enjoy. There is also a large grassed area for a family cricket or football game. Picnic facilities, BBQ area and toilets are all available.  Cooinda Park is nestled between Mackenzie Street West and the Bendigo Creek in Golden Square. A 200m stroll from the Bendigo Homestead Motor Inn & Apartments.

Rosalind Park – was added to the Victorian Heritage Register in 2000 as being of historic, archaeological, aesthetic, scientific (botanical) and architectural significance to the State of Victoria.  Rosalind Park boasts many different areas – Fernery; Conservatory; Bendigo Creek, Lookout Tower, Bendigo Heritage Mosaic; Barracks Lane, Cascades, View Street Gates, Queen Victoria Gardens, Lansell Gardens and Sisters Cities Gardens

Bendigo Botanic Gardens – Wander through this wonderful area, enjoy a picnic in the 1900 circa pavilion, watch the wonderful birdlife on the lagoon and view various animals and birds in the walk through aviary.  There are many different species of flora to be seen, including the Whipstick-Kamarooka Collection of herbaceous plants, the Canna Collection many species of native grasses.

O’Keefe Rail Trail – This is a 19km rail trail connecting Bendigo with Axedale. The sandy gravel trail runs along a former branch line on the Melbourne-Sydney rail line and has a number of low creek crossings. Walking time one way approximately 5.5 hours & cycling time approximately 3 hours.  There are short loops to be accessed and enjoyed.

Winery Cycling Trails – We have 4 cycling winery trails available in the Bendigo region. The ease of ride is on varied surfaces and encompasses minor hills or challenging terrain and steep hills.  Ranging from 21kms to 50kms distances there is something to suit all levels of cyclers.   Catch the Train from Melbourne to Kangaroo Flat station, disembark and ride 1.5km to the Bendigo Homestead Motor Inn & Apartments to set up your base camp.
